Founded in 1866, the University of Kansas is the largest public research university in the state of Kansas, and the School of Engineering is in the top 40 of public institution according to U.S. News. Located on top of Mount Oread in lovely Lawrence, KS, KU’s main campus is considered one of the most beautiful in the nation. KU’s basketball program is one of the most storied programs in the nation, having won three NCAA national championships and being crowned Big 12 champion for the last decade.
KU Aerospace
KUAE has a long and proud history in aerospace education and research. Notable alumni or former members of KU aerospace engineering include: Jan Roskam, the author of the book “Airplane Design”, Alan Mulally (BS/MS), former President and CEO of Ford Motor Company, Joe Engle, Astronaut, and Charlie Guthrie, Senior Vice President & CTO of Insitu (retired). We are the highest ranking graduate aerospace engineering program in the states of Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Nebraska (26 among public universities), and also the highest ranking program in the School of Engineering, according to US News.
